A1 Duran Roofing completed the Phase I reroofing at Tropical Elementary School, replacing multiple roof sections with a high-performance 3-ply SBS modified bitumen roofing system. The project included complete roof removal, lightweight concrete repairs, tapered slope improvements, stainless steel coping, flashings, drainage upgrades, and custom sheet metal components to provide a durable, watertight roofing assembly.
Construction began on November 18, 2023, and was successfully completed on January 2, 2025. Throughout the project, our team maintained close coordination with Miami-Dade County Public Schools to safely perform construction activities while minimizing disruption to the occupied educational facility.
The scope also included replacement of expansion joints, roof drains, scuppers, gutters, rain leaders, pipe penetrations, equipment curbs, HVAC flashings, stainless steel edge metal, and parapet coping systems. Each roofing area was carefully restored to improve drainage, eliminate ponding, and provide long-term weather protection.
This project demonstrates A1 Duran Roofing's expertise in delivering complex institutional reroofing projects, combining quality craftsmanship, advanced roofing systems, and disciplined project management to meet the demanding standards of public educational facilities.
